(Narrators walk in while talking. Stand in the middle of stage and keep talking)
Narrator 1: So Heather, You know Valentine’s Day is coming up. Have you got any plans for hat day?
Narrator 2: No, Felicia. In fact, I HATE Valentine’s day. All my dates are always messed up. Especially when the guy is late!
Narrator 1: I know! You know, my cousin went on a date when he was late. He really thinks he ruined the whole date!
Narrator 2: Really? What happened?
Narrator 1: Okay, Let me tell you. It was some time ago…( trails off)
(Both Narrators walk off stage. Play starts)
* Rahim is playing on the computer while his mother is sweeping the floor.*
Rahim’s Mother: Boy ah, you’re already in your late 30’s. When are you going to find yourself a wife and settle down so that your dear mother can have a nice chubby grandson?
Rahim: Alright mom, this year I’ll try.
Rahim’s Mother: What about Auntie Choo’s daughter? You once met her when you were 5. Why not mummy and auntie Choo arrange something for the both of you.
Rahim: Anything Ma.*busy playing on the computer*
Narrator 2: Although Rahim was more interested in his computer game, he loved his mother and would try his best to please her. This was Rahim’s first date and he was very excited.
(Cue bell ringing when Rahim walks into flower shop.)
*At the Florist*
Rahim: Hello, may I get roses for valentine’s day?
Florist: Sir, you look like you’re very dedicated to your girlfriend. Why not buy 999 roses? It symbolizes that you two will stay together forever.
Rahim: Really? Then I must get it no matter how expensive it may cost.
Narrator 1: Finally, valentine’s day arrived. Rahim was so excited and spent the whole day deciding on what to wear for that special occasion.
Rahim: Hmm, should I wear this?*lifts outfit A*. or does this look nicer?*lifts outfit B*
Narrator 2: He spent the whole afternoon deciding on what to wear. However, when it was time to go, Rahim still did not know what to wear.
*clock ticks in the background*
Rahim’s Mother: Darling, you’re supposed to meet auntie choo’s daughter, Ashlyn at Diamond Ruby restaurant. Don’t be late!
Rahim: Mom, I’ll go after changing..*trails off*
Narrator 1: However, while Rahim was deciding, the time was ticking away. He had completely forgotten about the date and was still deciding what to wear.
Rahim: Ohmygosh, I’m LATE!*rushes*
(At the restaurant…) (Plays smooth jazz in the background)
Waitress 1: Hello Madam. Welcome to Diamond Ruby restaurant. What would be your orders today?
Ashlyn: I’m sorry but I’m still expecting someone.
Waitress 1: Oh, I see. In that case, why not you order now?
Ashlyn: Good idea! What’s the signature dish here?
Waitress 1: Our signature dishes are Tom Yum Soup with Curry Fish head, Chili crab with bread and Fried rice with cheese.
Ashlyn: Ooh, I’ll have 2 Tom Yum Soup with Curry Fish head with more chili, a glass of plain water and a glass of lemon tea. Thank you.
Waitress 1: Alright. The food will be served shortly.
(waitress leaves)
*Ashlyn has already taken a seat and is sipping her lemon tea when Rahim rushes in*
Rahim : Hi, you must be Ashlyn, Auntie Choo’s daughter. Nice to meet you, I’m Rahim.
Ashlyn: *eyes Rahim * oh erm hi Rahim.
Rahim: *looks down at himself(shirt is not tucked in, hair is messy and shoes are mismatched)*oh sorry, I was in a rush. I’ll adjust it now. (starts tucking in his shirt etc.) Sits down after finished
Rahim: So Ashlyn, what are your hobbies?
Ashlyn: oh, I like sports especially swimming and I love running.
Rahim: *giggles* I can’t imagine you in a 2 piece suit!
Ashlyn: *looks offended*
Waitress 2: Hello! Here are your meals!
Rahim: Ashlyn Eat, Waitress Eat, auntie in white shirt eat, boy in superman tshirt eat….
Ashlyn: *looks embarrassed* Okay Boon Leong, you can stop now.
Rahim: * grins around and starts eating* alrighty! *scoops arm*
Rahim: *eats first mouth* WHATTT! THIS IS SO…… AHHHHHH! ASHYLN , WHAT DID YOU ORDER???I CANT TAKE IT! *gulps jug of water frantically, face turns red*
Ashlyn: you okay? *concerned face*
Rahim: I CANT TAKE IT! IM GOING TO DIE! I HAVN’T SAY THANK YOU TO MY MOM,MY DAD, MY SIS *trails off*
Ashlyn: Hold on! I’ll call the ambulance right now! *dials 995* Hello, please come immediately. This guy choked on his curry fish head and he’s going to die now!
Medic: We’ll be there in 5 seconds!
(5 seconds later) (Urgent Ambulance Music)
Medic: Sir, if you can hear me, please respond immediately. I repeat IMMEDIATELY! *grabs hold of Boon Leong’s tummy and hits his stomach.
Rahim: HEY! Why are you touching me?! How dare you!? I’ll sue you!
Medic: *confused look* Sorry sir, but someone reported you as near dying state.
Rahim: NO! I was just coughing out before YOU came to complicate everything!
Medic: *annoyed look* okay sir, sorry. If you say so… *turns and leaves*
Rahim:* makes hand action* Ashlyn, see ah. Nowadays the people so like that one. Aiyo!
Ashlyn: I thought you were choking… ???
Rahim: Choking? Please! I’m so FIT! *kisses muscles*
Narrator 2: Rahim sensed that he had ruined the whole date and was desperately trying to salvage it. Then, he realized that he had not given his roses.
(scene freezes, Rahim stands up and says “Ah ha! I’m such a genius to have thought of that!”
Rahim: Ashlyn, here’s a little something something for you.*gropes around under table*
Ashlyn: *looks curious*
Rahim: Oh my! Where did my bouquet of flowers run to? Don’t tell me it grew legs and ran away! Can’t be! It must be here somewhere… *trails off*
Ashlyn: *smiles to herself* Oh finally he’s getting something right!
Rahim: Oopsies Daisies, I can’t find it. Don’t worry my fair Ashlyn, I will call the florist so that you may get your flowers.
Ashlyn: uhh okay….
Rahim: *walks away. USE THE STAGE TO WALK AROUND. calls on handphone* EXCUSE ME! I ordered 999 bouquet of flowers*Ashlyn eyes widens* where in the world issit now? I am on a date and can’t find your flowers! I demand you to send it here right now.
Florist: Good evening Sir. I’m sorry but all our bouquets of flowers have been sent out and I am very sure someone took them already. Are you sure that you did not give a wrong address?
Rahim: This is ermmmm… Diamond Ruby restaurant. Off erm kiong saik road, the ulu corner there.
Florist: Oh are you Mr Rahim Ali? Deepest apologies but as we were unable to deliver it to you and you were uncontactable, we have already sold the bouquet of flowers.
Rahim: WHAT!? HOW COULD YOU. WHAT A NONSENSE SERVICE ATTITUDE!
Florist: I’m really sorry sir. Goodbye.
Rahim:*curses and swears* I’m truly sorry my darling dearest Ashlyn*bows 90 degrees*, the flowers aren’t with me. Let me go and find you something.*walks out*
Ashlyn: ohmygosh, what a nightmare date! What is wrong with him!
Rahim: *picks up leaf from a plant and walks back in with a leaf in hand* Ashlyn oh Ashlyn, I could only find a leaf from the ground. I’m sorry its shriveled up. Kind of like you. HAHA!
Ashlyn: What in the world is wrong with you Rahim? Do you have some issues?
Rahim: Huh, what tissues? Oh sorry Ashlyn, I only got my sleeve. *offers sleeve*
Ashlyn: Rahim! How can you be so unhygienic and gross. I can’t stand it anymore! I didn’t expect you to behave like this, not at all! I’m so disappointed in you! *grabs handbag and leaves*
Rahim: What did I do wrong Ashlyn!? Wait, don’t go! *chases a bit*
Narrator 1: By then, Ashlyn had already taken a taxi and left the restaurant.
(Rahim walks back to chair. Don’t sit down)
Rahim: *waves to waitress* Waitress, my date left already. I also got to go! Thank you for your service! Byee! *turns and prepares to leave*
Waitress: *chases after Rahim* I’m so sorry sir, but you have no paid for your meal. That would be 234 dollars thank you.
* Rahim holds a bill and giving sad face*
EVERYONE IN SCENE GOES INTO DIAM. NARRATORS WALK IN.
Narrator 1: And that’s what happened.
Narrator 2: Oh my gosh! That sounds horrible! What a lousy date!
Narrator 1: I know. You see, now that’s what happens when you are late for a date. (Turns to audience)
(Continues): So guys and girls, remember NEVER to be late on Valentine’s Day!
EVERYBODY BOWS AND SAYS ‘THANK YOU!’ PLAY FINISHES.

so are we meeting at 8 or 9 tmr to do the props. i take it as its 9 k? i want more sleep. and pls bring along sissors, glue, newspaper, painting materials( bush, paint, container), coloured pencils/markers and all the other stuff u have for doing props. we also have to find the music for all the parts.
